In Greek language “Hondrogiorgis” or “hondros Giorgos” means fat George.
Being in a remote spot but only 5.1 km on the opposite side from the village of Glossa, this beach is unknow to most visitors. It is not far from neighbouring Perivoliou beach and has very easy access by private vehicle via a dirt road, thus used mostly by local families.
An open-sea beach with fresh water, ideal for those who like open and empty spaces; facing north it is much cooler than the western beaches of the island.
Please be informed that there are no facilities in the area, so you should make provisions for water, snacks, beach mats etc before getting there. There is plenty of space for free parking, even in the peak season.
