Limnonari beach

Orientation: South-West, Family friendly

It is said that Limnonari beach looks like a lake and it is true. Most of the time this sheltered lagoon looking bay is as calm as a lake’s surface. Surrounded by steep green hills is well protected from northern and eastern winds. The sandy part of the beach has a pale golden colour. There is a slippery underwater shelf of rock at its shallow part, so swimmers should need to be careful as they enter the sea, but after that you feel you are in an aquarium.

Limnonari is located just after Agnontas settlement (1.5 km away) and reached by an asphalt narrow road by the coast – 1 km length off the main road that skirts the island. On the first part of the beach there are available comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, offered by the well reputed “Limnonari” taverna which operates here since 1969.
