We stayed 10 wonderful days in Christina’s cottage, ideally situated in calm of the countryside, near several beaches, also close to Skopelos port. It is just perfect, there is everything you need, and the big garden is full of flowers and lovely shades, next to an olive tree field. Mina and Kostas are the nicest hosts, they came to fetch us at the arrival of the boat. When cleaning the house, Mina would always leave for us fresh tomatoes from the orchard, or a piece of cake, or other delicacies, she had baked. Simply perfect! The Christina Cottage is placed quite far from the main house, surrounded by olive trees. A nice patio is in the front of the house, where have a relaxing breakfast and tasty dinners. Райское тихое уединенное место в глубине великолепного сада из оливковых и плодовых деревьев. Мы были практически одни. Дом и все в доме: мебель, посуда, белье очень чистое, ухоженное. Везде цветы. Хозяева очень аккуратные и добрые люди. Дом оформлен в традиционном стиле острова Скопелос. Недалеко находится огород хозяев, откуда они угощали нас свежими помидорами, а Mina еще и приносила на пробу свои вкуснайшие варенья – сливовое и вишневое. Christina’s Cottage more than lived up to its description. Set away from the road and surrounded by olive and walnut trees – perfect for lazing in a hammock, listening to the distant tinkling of goats’ bells. Everything about the cottage was well equipped and clean – kitchen, bathroom, towels and bedding. Mina came in to clean every few days. The kitchen is more than adequate for cooking ‘proper’ meals. Mina and Kostas were kindness itself, and always attentive to our needs, from the very first when they met us from the ferry. And it was fun to watch Kostas harvesting the walnuts. A hire car is a good idea. The cottage is well placed for exploring the island, and the well-stocked supermarket is only a mile away. A lovely place. — William Evers, stayed September 2015

At the end of a garden filled with flowers, olive trees, walnut trees and surrounded by wandering goat herds, Christina Cottage is set back about 100 meters from the road between Skopelos Town and Stafylos beach. The only threat to peace, quiet and tranquillity are the cicadas which are amazing and goat bells. The cottage is very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It’s located about a mile from the beach with 3 good tavernas on route and two miles from Skopelos town in the other direction. There’s a well stocked large supermarket about a mile along the way. It’s possible to survive without a car, Mina and Kostas are more than happy to pick you up from the Port but it’s well worth hiring a car even if only for a few days to discover some of the other charms of this delightful island.

There is a regular bus service from here to both Stafylos and Skopelos Town although we walked most days to the beach which is very clean (pebble and sand –umbrella and 2 sunbeds at 6 euros a day) with a nice bar and lovely sheltered bay with backdrop for simply wallowing in. We would also highly recommend a day out from the Port in a sailing boat to Alonnissos. Nous avons séjourné 4 fois déjà depuis 2009 à la maison Christina et nous y revenons chaque fois avec le même plaisir. Située au milieu d’oliviers âgés de 170 ans et d’autres arbustes, romarin et une quantité de fleurs, roses, géraniums et même un datura, bordant un agréable patio, comportant tables,chaises,guéridon et 2 modernes et confortables fauteuils relax por se reposer et un grand parasol. Cette maison située à 150m de la route périphérique n’est pas dérangée par le bruit des motos et voitures. Elle est calme et à l’abri des regards. Devant le patio un important noyer peut abriter votre voiture de location en un parking privé. Si vous préférez marcher la plus proche plage de Staphylos est à moins d’1km de l’allée conduisant à la maison. Mai s il y a aussi un arrêt de bus à150 m. Les bus désservent les plages et villages principaux ainsi que la capitale à 3kms. La maison, murs, meubles, parquets cirés dans la chambre située à la mezzanine au dessus du séjour sont impeccables.

Cette maison, bien équipée avec air conditionné et même une machine à laver convient surtout à mon sens à un couple. Il y a un grand lit dans la chambre à coucher, style attique située au dessus du living et accessible par l’escalier. Toutefois un confortable lit d’une personne dans le living peut accueillir un enfant. Les propriétaires Mina et Kostas sont des gens charmants toujours prêts à vous aider. Ils assurent eux mêmes l’entretien de la maison. Mina fait le ménage qui es absolument parfait,intérieur et extérieun draps, serviettes toilettes, poubelles nmeubles de terrasse, balayant aussi les feuilles d’oliviers, etc. Nous recommandons fortement cette maison, rare à Skopelos, paisible et abritée. A proximité de tout, restaurants, supermarchés, stations d’essence… En ce qui nous concerne (un couple) nous ne pouvons trouver mieux. — Jean et Thérèse Tardif, France, 3 semaines Juin 2015

We would recommend Christina Cottage and the island of Skopelos to family and friends. Approximately 15 minute walk to the closest beach, and 3 km from the Town of Skopelos, so ideal location really. What a beautiful and lovingly maintained little cottage! We stayed at Christina Cottage on our honeymoon, and had the most lovely time; it is an easy place to relax with such beautiful surroundings. The Island of Skopelos is magical; full of flora and fauna, mountainous pine forests, the distant jingle of goats bells, honey bees, crystal clear Aegean Sea, beautiful beaches, an abundance of lovely food and some really picturesque places to eat by the beach, live greek music, and a romantic town with winding streets and whitewashed houses with blue shutters and flowers growing absolutely everywhere.
