The settlement of Agnontas<\/h3>\n

Surrounded by dense forest, this charming fishing hamlet is located on the South-West side of the island, on the main provincial road which services all of the island\u2019s beaches and settlements. Only 8 kilometers away from Skopelos town and harbor, it is easily reached via the local bus service.\u00a0Occasionally, it is used as a second harbor when the weather is rough and the approach into the town\u2019s harbor by hydrofoils and ferry boats gets difficult. It got\u00a0its name from the runner Olympic winner Agnon, in 569 B.C. The beach of Agnontas<\/h3>\n

The eponymous, small and sheltered shingle beach\u00a0\u2013 with calm sea and waterside taverns \u2013 enjoys scenic sunsets as it is facing directly west. Popular and crowded in the summer, it is ideal for families, and there is a mini-market open during the season.
